Often standing motionless as it scans for prey, but this time has missed it's favorite snack, the invasive Ivory Mystery Snail ( Pomacea Bridgesii )  seen  lower left.   Measuring 24" wide x 50" tall x 4" deep in a red oak frame.

The Great Blue Heron

                                                     is a large wading bird in the family Ardeidae, commonly seen near the shores of open water and in wetlands. Interpreted here with long legs of stainless braided cable, thighs of copper wool and acrylic talons. The sinuous neck is made of corrugated steel pipe and various plumbing fittings. The thick dagger-like bill is a tailor's shears. The head is a gaming circuit board with the eye made from a copper toroidal inductor under a glass cabochon. Main body is reclaimed circuit panel and the wing and tail plumes are cut from copper motherboards and given a vinegar based patina to emulate the naturally shaggy appearance.
